Our Team

  • Tamara Towbin, Founder

After struggling for over a year with a UTI that turned chronic but was initially misdiagnosed as IC, Tamara experienced first hand the immense patient challenge of accessing medical support and treatment for this under-diagnosed condition. Her quest for solving her chronic pain led her to delve deep into clinical papers in addition to doctor consultations and she soon became aware of the disparity of medical awareness around persistent UTI. Upon interviewing other patients she realised many shared her experience and that there was a great desire for access to medical care beyond the handful of overbooked specialists in the space. Urge was born with the objective of empowering more doctors to learn about the complexities that can emerge from UTI so that they can in turn better support this underserved patient population.
